Pre Future

Why Precalculus?

My personal goal is to work with animals. As a child, I had always had a passion for all types of animals. I’m unsure what field I would like to help animals in. However, as a kid, I thought of being a veterinarian but that would require 7 years of school and recently I have thought of being a wildlife biologist. Aside precalculus being a requirement for my Liberal Arts major, I like taking challenges because I heard pre-calculus is hard and I want to face that challenge.

At the end of the semester, I want to learn the concepts of Trigonometry and take what I will learn for my future classes. Taking this class will help me with my future goals.

Who has the same major as me and why are you taking precalculus?

  1. I admire your formidable willpower to welcome challenges and face them. I am not majoring in liberal arts, although I am taking pre-calc because it is required. I think if you conquer this challenge, future challenges will be a breeze as well.

  2. I have a friend who is a veterinarian. She wanted to be a wildlife veterinarian, but said that it would require her to live in the wilderness. Her partner is a city person. They had a hard time finding a place where they could both live and be happy.

I like that you have big ambitions and want to take on challenges. Precalculus can be difficult at times, but I think you’ll find it rewarding. It’s definitely mathematics that a veterinarian would need to know!
